Corn Coast Brewing Company started as a crazy idea in 2010 when college friends began talking about turning a passion for homebrewing into a full-time business. At UNL we met while participating in the NROTC unit and went on to serve in the Navy and Marine Corps. Lincoln has always been a "home base" for us during those years on active duty, so we knew when we decided to open a brewery we were going to do it in Lincoln, NE.
The name Corn Coast began as a joke as we were scattered around the country; the 3 of us living on different coasts: the west coast, east coast and gulf coast. When returning home for the holidays we would endearingly refer to home as the "corn coast" which eventually just became part of our lexicon.
Our passion for brewing is entrenched in the technical nerdery of brewing science as much as it is rooted in the nuance of recipe development. It's the simplest of beers that give us the most excitement to brew because they require a high degree of precision and attention to detail.
We are dually focused on a range of crushable session beers and hop-forward ales. Our goal is to brew beers that go perfect with warm weather or take you to that "happy place" on the beach. Many of our beers are inspired by "aha" moments while drinking liters of Helles in Germany or pints of IPA in San Diego.
We brew on a small 5BBL brewing system which lets us brew more often as we pursue that perfect pint of beer. Like a craftsman of fine furniture, we will be constantly refining and tinkering with every detail until we feel we cannot make the beer any better.
